WIDGET REMOTE PRIVACY
Effective October 30, 2026
Widget Remote for Roku doesn't collect, share or sell any information about you. It has no accounts, analytics, ads or tracking, and it never sends anything to me or to anyone else.
What stays on your phone
To control your TV, the app saves a few things on your iPhone:
- The Roku you picked: its name, network address and serial number.
- The list of apps on that Roku and their icons.
- Your settings, such as haptics and sounds.
The app's widgets and controls read the same saved Roku so they can send commands to it. None of this leaves your phone, and deleting the app deletes it.
Who the app talks to
The app only talks to Roku devices on your own WiFi network. It asks for Local Network access to find your TV and send it remote commands. Private listening plays your TV's sound through your phone. It doesn't use your microphone and doesn't record anything.
Your Roku is made by Roku, Inc., and their privacy policy covers what the TV itself does. Widget Remote is not affiliated with Roku, Inc.
Children
The app collects no information from anyone, including children under 13.
Changes
If this ever changes, I'll update this page and the effective date above before releasing a version of the app that behaves differently.
